It’s been a very busy weekend for us. On Saturday, we were at Discovery School for their Earth Day Open House, discussing our farm, our farming practices, and the local food movement:
We took some lettuce seedlings of different ages and also let the kids make their own soil blocks and plant lettuce seeds to take home:
Our good friends David and Molly Ernst were there as well. David is the manager of the Shelby Farmers’ Market.
As well as some folks from Alta West Greenhouse and Amy Oswalt who organized the event:
Today, we transplanted all of our onions, our cabbages, kale, poc choi, and our first round of lettuces:
And most importantly, we finalized a lease agreement on 8.5 acres of land directly behind and connecting to our current location. We now have access to all the land we could ever want for our farm!
